As a remarkable interfaith gesture, Seventh-day Adventist Church has invited acclaimed Hindu leader Rajan Zed to its world headquarters in Maryland (USA) and meet its leaders.
Washington, May 29 : As a remarkable interfaith gesture, Seventh-day Adventist Church has invited acclaimed Hindu leader Rajan Zed to its world headquarters in Maryland (USA) and meet its leaders.
Carol E. Rasmussen of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Department of the Church, in a communiqué to Zed, wrote, "We would welcome you to visit our world headquarters and meet with some of our leaders."
The meeting is expected to be with about 10-20 Church officials, followed by a lunch together.
Meanwhile, Zed has also been invited to participate in the interfaith Hawaii Festival of Religious Freedom in July next, organised by the Church.
Seventh-day Adventist Church, formally established in 1860s, claims to have 15,435,470 members and 62716 churches spread throughout the world.
Its official website describes itself as "a Christian faith community preparing the world for the return of Jesus Christ."
