The MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) has reportedly described Pakistans cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan as a total failure in politics and said that he was politically alive only because he was media savvy.
Islamabad, May 23 : The MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) has reportedly described Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan as "a total failure" in politics and said that he was politically alive only because he was media savvy.
This statement came from an MQM leader who was reacting to Imran's plans to flying to London early next week to file a terrorism case against MQM chief Altaf Hussain over his "involvement in last year's massacre on May 12 when hundreds of Pakistanis lost their lives in serial blasts.
An unidentified MQM leader said that what PTI (Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf) chief Imran was planning was trash and would fizzle out soon. He also described him as a 'sick person'.
"All this is trash. What comments do you expect from me? It is a non-issue. It will fizzle out soon. A sick person who has been a total failure in politics and is alive just because of the media coverage and his latest move is reflective of the same," The News quoted the senior MQM leader as saying.
He added that MQM chief Altaf Hussain was a leader of national stature and believed in political coexistence and commanded respect among friends and foes.
Quoting PTI sources, the paper said that Imran's legal experts had prepared a case, covering all possible aspects of the MQM leader's alleged role in some disturbing events. Imran had earlier delayed his visit to London in view of the fast-changing political situation after the February general election. But, after the change of date in holding the All Parties Democratic Movement's national conference, he has now decided to file a case against the MQM leader, they added.
The sources confirmed that Imran was scheduled to leave for Britain on May 27 specifically for initiating a legal action against Altaf Hussain. "We have solid proof of the Muttahida leader's involvement in the last year's May 12 massacre. We are quite hopeful of success," maintained the PTI sources.
