Resolution for reinstating pro-Musharraf judges being drafted

Top officials in the Pakistan Prime Minister Office are said to be preparing a draft resolution for the reinstatement of the deposed judges acceptable to President Pervez Musharraf.

Lahore, May 20 : Top officials in the Pakistan Prime Minister Office are said to be preparing a draft resolution for the reinstatement of the deposed judges acceptable to President Pervez Musharraf.

According to PML-N spokesman Siddiqul Farooq, the country's Law Minister Farooq H Naek, Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik and National Security Council Secretary Tariq Aziz are burning the midnight oil to fully draft the resolution to be passed by the National Assembly.

The three were engaged in drafting the resolution for the last three days in the National Reconstruction Bureau premises, the Daily Times quoted Farooq as saying.

He said that the PPP and the PML-N had been given mandate in the February 18 polls against President Musharraf's policies, and that it would be going against the people's wishes if any step strengthened Musharraf.

Regretting that the judges' issue still remained unresolved despite PML-N's flexible approach, he said that the PML-N wanted to keep the coalition intact.
