The Speaker of Nepals interim Parliament, Subas Nemwang, today said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) will convene on May 20. ccordingly, the preparations for the first sitting of the Constituent Assembly at the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC) in Baneshwor are going on, Nemwang said here on Friday.
Kathmandu, May 2 : The Speaker of Nepal's interim Parliament, Subas Nemwang, today said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) will convene on May 20. ccordingly, the preparations for the first sitting of the Constituent Assembly at the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC) in Baneshwor are going on, Nemwang said here on Friday.
Explaining that there are no Constitutional or technical difficulties for convening the meeting, which is expected to abolish monarchy and declare Nepal a republic, he said the Prime Minister will call the meeting within 21 days from the final announcement of CA results.
Nepal News quoted Nemwang as saying that the parties needed to forge a consensus on how to move ahead.
