PML-Q decides to exploit PPP-PML-N differences in the run-up to by-polls

In the run-up to the by-polls slated for June 26, the erstwhile ruing party in Pakistan, the PML-Q has decided to exploit the differences between the PPP and the PML-N and misdeed of the new government and take it to the voters.

Lahore, May 14 : In the run-up to the by-polls slated for June 26, the erstwhile ruing party in Pakistan, the PML-Q has decided to exploit the differences between the PPP and the PML-N and "misdeed" of the new government and take it to the voters.

Appealing for votes, the former ruling party would also highlight the steps taken by the previous government for the welfare of the people.

As a part of the by-election strategy, the PML-Q leaders believe that the new government's failure to stabilise the price of essential commodities and its inability to strengthen democratic institutions would prove beneficial for the party's efforts to restore the people's confidence in the party.

At a meeting last evening, chaired by PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, the party's leaders determined that the upcoming by-elections could prove to be a blessing for the party. They believe that the prevailing political crisis would make it easier for them to convince people to vote for the PML-Q.

In the form of a by-poll election campaign, the PML-Q believes that it could not only dispel negative impressions of the party that were projected during the general elections, the Daily Times quoted a party insider as saying.

It was decided that senior party leaders will conduct surprise visits in various districts of Punjab in the first week of June to ensure proper implementation of the party's "campaign".
