Spooks can check out spirits in Scotlands eerie Ghost Fest

London, May 10 : From the next week onwards, Scotland will turn its interest from whisky, something which the nation is famous for, to a different type of spirit - as the famous Ghost Fest returns to Edinburgh.

The spooky event - which runs until Sunday May 18 - investigates the darker side of the city.

According to paranormal historian Richard Felix, the country's natives believe that popular search spot Mary King's Close was sealed off as a result of the plague and people were left to die here - without being given a decent burial.

"They believe a lot of this area was sealed off as a result of the plague and people were left to die here - without being given a decent burial," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

For the Ghost Fest, focus will switch from the homes and streets to the souls who once lived and worked there.

The Close is a spooky spot and one that has fascinated spirit fans for years.

It forms the centre point of the festival - but this year bosses have added a string of extras including ghost walks and talks.
