No talk of Musharrafs impeachment in Zardaris 2-hour speech

Giving indications enough that he or his party were not in favour of reinstating deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Chowdhary and ousting President Pervez Musharraf, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari did not utter even a single word about the issues in his two-hour long speech to his party MNAs-elect, here last evening.

Islamabad, Mar 7 : Giving indications enough that he or his party were not in favour of reinstating deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Chowdhary and ousting President Pervez Musharraf, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari did not utter even a single word about the issues in his two-hour long speech to his party MNAs-elect, here last evening.

According to a party source who attended the meeting, Zardari also did not speak anything about who would be the next prime minister, a matter which is likely to sorted with a few days.

He, however, reportedly said in the meeting that the new premier and his cabinet will be on "probation".

Zardari's entire speech revolved around his prison days, and how he felt alone in the jail when none of the PPP colleagues came to visit him, The News quoted Zardari as saying.

The session was considered as Zardari's sermon to the new members so that they understand his sacrifices for the PPP. He candidly tried to present his credentials, and in between kept reverting back to the importance of a democratic system in Pakistan. He also said that the PPP government would embark on a mission to correct the history. He said he will use the parliament for this purpose so that our coming generations know the truth.
