The Glasgow High Court sentenced a man who claimed to be former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharifs bodyguard to eight years imprisonment after charging him of rape of a 21-year-old woman in March last year.
London, Mar 4 : The Glasgow High Court sentenced a man who claimed to be former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif's bodyguard to eight years imprisonment after charging him of rape of a 21-year-old woman in March last year.
The man has been identified as Ghulam Abbas, a 37-year old former elite cop and an illegal immigrant in the UK.
The Judge also placed Abbas on the sex offenders list with a recommendation that he should be deported back to his home country.
"You obviously are an intelligent man. You got her into your flat on the pretence of helping her, gave her more alcohol then raped her when she was in no position to resist. You also kept her in your flat against her will," the Dawn quoted Judge Rita Rae as saying while announcing the judgement.
