Lahore, Mar 31 : PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that the newly-elected National Assembly and the new government would determine their relationship with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, and that he had no role to play in this regard.
He said that his job was restricted to making political policies since he was the head of a political party.
"It is up to parliament and the elected government to determine its working relationship with the President's House. We are political policy makers and our job is to formulate political policies," the Daily Times quoted him as saying.
He added: "Our government will focus on reforming the police and judiciary as we want to change the system rather than the faces. The nation is seeing that we have started our journey in this direction. We are moving ahead with Benazir Bhutto's slogan that democracy is the best revenge."
He said it had not yet been decided whether the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) would be included in the ruling coalition, adding that a decision would be taken after consultations with Nawaz. "Differences exist even in families, but we have to work together for the sake of the country," Nawaz said and added: "However, we have reservations with reference to the MQM and we will continue to express these reservations until they [are addressed]."
