The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam -Fazlur (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has warned Prime Minister Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gilani that his government risks facing confrontation over its 100-day program, which includes reforming madrassas.

Islamabad, Mar.30 : The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam -Fazlur (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has warned Prime Minister Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gilani that his government risks facing confrontation over its 100-day program, which includes reforming madrassas.

Addressing the National Assembly, Rehman said the new program gave him the impression that the new government would follow the previous government's 'anti- madrassa' policy.

Rehman warned the government not to oppress the madrassas and also criticised Gilani's announcement of the repeal of the Frontiers Crimes Regulations (FCR), which had been implemented in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

The Daily Times quoted him as saying that the decision should be reconsidered in consultation with parliamentarians of FATA.
