Nepal Minister Sujata Koirala to visit India

Nepals Minister Without Portfolio Sujata Koirala has left for New Delhi today for meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Raj Nath Singh and other top leaders and high-ranking officials.

Kathmandu, Mar.3 : Nepal's Minister Without Portfolio Sujata Koirala has left for New Delhi today for meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Raj Nath Singh and other top leaders and high-ranking officials.

While in New Delhi, Sujata Koirala is expected to interact with a BJP core group regarding the April 10 Constitution Assembly election, reports said.

Koirala is visiting New Delhi at the invitation of Raj Nath Singh.

The BJP has been favouring the continuance of a constitutional monarchy in Nepal as its sister organisation regards the Nepali monarch as the "Hindu emperor" and the country he rules as the "world's only Hindu kingdom".

The Congress (I), which heads the UPA Government, has said that Nepal must work towards establishing a democratic system of government.
