Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Deputy Convener Farooq Sattar has said that his party was ready to join the coalition government, even though they havent yet received any formal offer from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the biggest of the coalition partners.

Lahore, Mar 24 : Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Deputy Convener Farooq Sattar has said that his party was ready to join the coalition government, even though they haven't yet received any formal offer from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), the biggest of the coalition partners.

"Since beginning, our party had offered unconditional support to the PPP. Now the PPP would have to decide whether it wanted the MQM in government, or forming part of the opposition, from where it could support constructive government policies," Sattar said.

"Nothing is 'ultimate' in politics. My party could talk to the Pakistan Muslim League- (Nawaz). It was up to Asif Ali Zardari to talk with Nawaz regarding his MQM reservations because the PPP had shown interest in the MQM joining a coalition," the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

The PML-N leadership seems to be divided over MQM's joining the new federal government, as a statement made by Nawaz on Sunday differed from another PML-N leader Khwaja Asif's comments.

Asif said the PML-N should be unified over the MQM.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM respected the PML-N mandate, and wanted the N-league to reciprocate.
