A survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan on Tuesday said that 88 per cent of Pakistanis support Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawazs (PML-N) bid to form the new government at the centre.
Islamabad, Mar 19 : A survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan on Tuesday said that 88 per cent of Pakistanis support Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) bid to form the new government at the centre.
At least 1,416 respondents from rural and urban areas participated in the survey that was conducted on March 9 and 10.
The poll revealed that the PPP enjoys a high level of public support for its decision to ally with, the PML-N.
The poll showed that 94 per cent of PPP supporters, 98 per cent of PML-N supporters, 74 per cent of PML-Q supporters, and 95 per cent of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) supporters favoured the alliance. Only 27 per cent of MQM voters supported the PPP-PML-N alliance.
"The difference between the two parties would be a "thorny political problem" in Sindh, where the MQM dominated the urban segment of the provincial assembly, and the PPP reflected the rural population," the Daily Times quoted the survey, as saying.
