PPPs Faisal Karim Kundi elected National Assembly Deputy Speaker

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Faisal Karim Kundi was elected the Deputy Speaker of the Pakistan National Assembly here on Wednesday.

Islamabad, Mar.19 : Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate Faisal Karim Kundi was elected the Deputy Speaker of the Pakistan National Assembly here on Wednesday.

A total of 328 members participated in the election and Karim won 246 votes. He defeated Khush Bakht Shujat of the PML who received 68 votes.

Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi and Imrana Saeed were appointed as agents for Kundi and Khush Bakht Shujat respectively as the polling started at 5 p.m. local time.

After the election, Faisal Karim Kundi was sworn in as the Deputy Speaker by the Speaker, Dr. Fahmida Mirza.
