Kathmandu, Mar 18 : Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Chairman Prachanda has accused the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) of going away from Leftist alliance under US pressure.

"After the US ambassador told them not to forge an alliance with the Maoists, the UML ran away," Prachanda said at an election rally.

He went on to say that the US had told the UML that it did not want to see the Maoists winning the Constituent Assembly (CA) election scheduled for April 10, nepalnews.com reported.

It may be recalled that comments and counter-comments are being made by Maoist and UML leaders over the issue of the Leftist alliance for the CA elections.
