Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and its allied parties have named Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar as their candidate for Prime Ministers post.

Islamabad, Mar 17 : Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and its allied parties have named Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar as their candidate for Prime Minister's post.

According to the Daily Times, Sattar was unanimously elected by the PML-Q's MNAs-elect.Addressing a press conference, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain announced that Pervaiz Elahi would be their candidate for Opposition leader in the new National Assembly.

"For the post of Deputy Speaker, MQM's Khushbakht Shujaat would be their candidate while Haider Abbass Rizvi, another MOQ leader was named as the allied parties' candidate for deputy opposition leader," Hussain said.

When asked about who will be candidate for Speaker's post, MQM leader Sattar said the candidate would be from the PML-Q and announcment for this would be made in a day of two.

He further added that their candidate for Prime Minister would be intended for a five-year term and not for an interim period.
