Skegness is the most British of UK towns

Skegness has emerged as the most traditional British town in a new survey.

London, March 17 : Skegness has emerged as the most traditional British town in a new survey.

The town achieved the top position on the back of the Lincolnshire seaside resort that boasts more "truly British" attractions than places like Westminster and York.

The resort has one tearoom, cricket club, pub, chippy, holiday camp, stately home and theatre for every 162 residents.

Scarborough and Tunbridge Wells were second and third, respectively, on the list of most traditional British towns.

Wrapping up the top five were Westminster and Bradford.

"Brit traditions are as strong as ever," The Mirror quoted Tony Martin of locallife.co.uk as saying.
