Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee on Saturday met Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed the possible help India could offer in conducting the April 10 Constituent Assembly polls in a peaceful manner.

Kathmandu, Mar 15 : Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee on Saturday met Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed the possible help India could offer in conducting the April 10 Constituent Assembly polls in a peaceful manner.

During the meeting, the Indian envoy said the Indian Government was ready to assist the Nepal Government in the election process in whatever way possible.

He also reported to have told Koirala that security along the border would be strengthened in view of the polls here.

This was the second meeting between the Prime Minister and the Indian ambassador within a week, nepalnews.com reported.
