White House hopes for good relations with Pakistan in the future

The White House has said that it hopes that good relations with Pakistan would continue in the future.

Washington, Mar 11 : The White House has said that it hopes that "good relations" with Pakistan would continue in the future.

"We obviously watch the situation with interest but I will tell you that this is the Pakistanis working through their democratic process," the Daily Times quoted White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, as saying.

"Obviously we've had good relations with Pakistan in the past several years, we fully expect that to continue but we are not going to comment on what they should or should not do as they work through their process," Perino added.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Tom Casey said at his daily briefing that Washington is looking forward to working with the new Government in Pakistan.

He added that the issue of the sacked judges' restoration "should be resolved within the context of Pakistani laws and the Pakistani Constitution."
