ANC chief Zuma to visit India, China

African National Congress (ANC) President Jacob Zuma will pay a weeklong visit to India and China, and will leave for two places today.

Johannesburg, June 7 : African National Congress (ANC) President Jacob Zuma will pay a weeklong visit to India and China, and will leave for two places today.

ANC spokesperson Jessie Duarte said Zuma would visit Delhi and Mumbai and is also scheduled to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Zuma is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding between the ANC and the Indian National Congress, The Financial Times reported.

Duarte said Zuma would also meet Minister of State for Externalffairs Anand Sharma, the Confederation of Indian industry delegation, the African Committee and the representatives of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce.

In China, Zuma is expected to meet the President Hu Jintao. He would also address the Pudong executive leadership academy in Shanghai.

ANC committee members Ebrahim Ebrahim, Collins Chabane, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and Youth League deputy president Andile Lungisa, would accompany Zuma.

Zuma is expected to return home on June 15.
