IMERYS Pigments for Paper to Increase Global Kaolin Prices

Brussels, Belgium

IMERYS Pigments for Paper raises prices for all kaolin products effective immediately.

Kaolin manufactured in the USA, Brazil, Australia and the UK, including calcined products, will increase in price by 10 to 15 %. In addition to this announced increase, energy & transportation surcharges will apply, around the world, for kaolin products in all forms.

Unprecedented cost increases in logistics, chemicals, mining, fuel, and power are key factors in this decision. Despite Imerys' continual improvement programs to mitigate these effects, price increases and surcharges are necessary to achieve a sustainable pigment business.

Notes to editors:

IMERYS Pigments for Paper is a world leading producer of white pigments, manufacturing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). The business group serves the needs of the international paper industry and employs 2,403 people, operates 46 industrial sites in 19 countries and represents 22% of Imerys' overall revenue.
