A group of overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs have built an unsinkable Floating ship to give people the virtual effect of being on a ship.
Karachi, June 28 : A group of overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs have built an unsinkable 'Floating ship' to give people the virtual effect of being on a ship.
Spread over 55,000 square feet, the ship is presently anchored at the shores of Clifton Beach in Karachi.
Although there will be a crew welcoming guests aboard, and radars point in the right direction, the ship will not leave it place.
"The ship has been built by a group of overseas Pakistani entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Defense Housing Authority (DHA)," Pakistani newspaper Daily Times quoted Ahmad Jan, Deputy Manager Administrations, as saying.
"The idea behind this immovable and unsinkable ship is dynamic. It gives you the virtual effect of being on a ship, while it will provide you with entertainment and international cuisine," he added.
The Floating Ship has a huge parking space to accommodate 220 cars, 110 on each side of the main entrance.
Jan revealed that the massive parking space might be used as a mini-expo for exhibitions in the near future.
The ship's entrance resembles a departure terminal, and its separate decks have been designed to give the sense of being on a cruise.
Its top deck, called the Executive Lounge and Ocean View, is an exclusive deck designed for VVIPs who want a peaceful and serene environment.
"Our guests can relax in the ocean breeze away from the hectic and demanding life of their office, and at the same time conduct business meetings here," Jan said.
The mid-deck, called the Business Lounge, can also be used for social gatherings.
Interestingly, the ship also has a part called Edutainment Centre where children can watch free documentaries on global, environmental, and humanitarian issues.
The bottom deck of the ship, called the Family Lounge and Sky View, has been installed with a virtual-reality entertainment system in which 'passengers' can take a daily journey to world renowned places in India, Thailand, China, Malaysia, US, and Switzerland.
Those aboard the ship will also get a chance to meet superheroes like Spiderman, Batman and Superman, who will make surprise visits.
They will also experience tornados, thunderstorms, shark attacks, wild safaris, and waves crashing against the portholes.
Children can also encounter aliens and UFO rides, as well as write notes to the Moms Bank.
There are also plans to give a scholarship of Rs10,000 every month.
A boarding pass will be issued to passengers with the theme, 'Around the World in Ten Dollars'.
Students will get some points each times they use the pass, so that they can be used in the subsequent visits.
