National Security Adviser M. K. Narayanan led a high- powered delegation on Friday to meet Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit.
Colombo, June 21 : National Security Adviser M. K. Narayanan led a high- powered delegation on Friday to meet Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit.
Besides Narayanan, the delegation comprised of Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh.
The meeting took place at the residence of Rajapaksa and lasted for about an hour.
It is believed that the delegation discussed the security scenario in Sri Lanka for the upcoming SAARC Summit in August.
Recently the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama visited India to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the SAARC Summit.
