The Queen warns Wills not to marry Kate till she gets a job

Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly warned grandson Prince William not to propose to girlfriend Kate Middleton until she gets a proper job.

London, June 2 : Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly warned grandson Prince William not to propose to girlfriend Kate Middleton until she gets a proper job.

The British monarch, 82, has not stopped her age from letting carrying out her share of Royal engagements.

And, she is said to have made it clear that she expects the same from Middleton, especially as the 26-year-old is being seen as a Royal WAG.

"On the few occasions the Queen has met Kate, she thought she was a nice enough girl. But she still has no idea what Kate actually does. She believes in a modern monarchy and that everyone in this country should be in work," the Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.

"She feels very strongly that the Royals should be leading by example. There is no room for Royal WAGs."

Middleton has not held a proper job since quitting her position as an accessories buyer for high street chain Jigsaw at the end of last year.

At the time, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a photographer, but has done no more than take few photos for the online catalogue of her parents' toy business.

A pal of William, 25, said that the Royal girlfriend's lifestyle was a matter of concern to the second-in-line to the throne.

"Kate's lifestyle does concern him. He works really hard. He wants the nation to see him as a prince prepared to pull his weight and be a great ambassador for Britain," the pal said.

"He doesn't want that jeopardised by people viewing Kate as a layabout. But he is love-struck and will do anything for her."
