Win-Win Co-operation: VINCIN Adopts SPIRIT Voice Solution

Moscow, Russia and Shenzhen, China

SPIRIT DSP, the world's leading provider of voice and video software engines, announced that China's provider of telecom solutions Vincin United Technology Co., Ltd. (VUTC) licenses TeamSpirit(R) Mobile Voice Engine for its mobile communication solution over GSM network.

Due to the sheer volume of phone calls that will be made during the China Olympics Games, telecom experts are forecasting voice networks traffic to dramatically increase: besides hundred millions of Chinese audience, over 4 million guests are expected to make their way to China for this global and internationally viewed event. In these terms securing a stable communication environment during the Games appears as a vital need, which includes ensuring reliable mobile communications and connectivity for all the special services personnel that are heavily involved in the Olympics' activities, coordination and security.

SPIRIT's TeamSpirit(R) Mobile Voice Engine has been integrated into VUTC's mobile softphones, running over GSM CSD (Circuit Switched Data) channel (9.6kbps) on Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 platforms. TeamSpirit(R) Mobile delivers the core voice functionality inside the mobile devices to ensure highest possible voice quality and consistent, reliable communications over GSM networks. Integrating network and voice subsystems SPIRIT's solution ensures the lowest device CPU load and provides all the required functionality, giving more value to end-users.

A CSD call function in a typical way conducts voice call in a GSM network. The original form of data transmission developed for the GSM mobile phone system uses a single radio time slot to deliver data transmission to the GSM network and switching subsystem where it could be connected through the equivalent of a normal modem to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), allowing direct calls to any dial-up service. IP connection over mobile network could be in great request due to its low cost and high availability in case of traditional voice communications overflow. Used by special and emergency services, such communications also maintain public safety by their great reliability and high voice quality.

TeamSpirit(R) Mobile Voice Engine has a high degree of optimization for a dozen of mobile platforms with ARM-based processors inside and has already earned a reputation of high quality voice solution for mobile devices and networks of all the communication standards including fast growing China's national TD-SCDMA. With TeamSpirit(R) Mobile it is easy to build feature-rich easy-to-use softphone applications to help end-users quickly adopt network capabilities of their mobile devices and enjoy benefits of VoIP communications.

"SPIRIT has a great experience in providing voice solutions to the special services and public communications. For instance, since 2005 our technology has been powering Ericsson's public safety call centers for 911 systems," stated Alex Kravchenko, VP Sales of SPIRIT. "We are very proud that our product successfully meets high standards established for such a popular and major event as the Olympic Games. Well approved by numerous manufacturers of mobile and enterprise desktop communication devices like Huawei, ZTE, and UTStarcom, SPIRIT remains the number one provider of quality voice and video over IP software for extremely emerging and growing mobile market of China."

"SPIRIT's Voice Engine has been proven on a number of mobile platforms and has already earned a reputation of high quality voice solution for mobile devices," said James Wang, Deputy G.M. at VUTC. "With SPIRIT's proven technology, we gained a mature and flexible speech voice processing software, capable of providing the highest voice processing quality at a reasonable cost. Our relationship with SPIRIT allows us to continue our work on developing innovative, market-leading solutions. We confidently choose SPIRIT solution that meets our development project schedule and significantly reduces time-to-market of our innovative product that integrates network and voice subsystems."
