No one has power to dissolve assemblies: Pak PM

Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Reza Gillani said on Friday in unequivocal terms no one has the power to dissolve the countrys assemblies.

Islamabad, July 25 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Reza Gillani said on Friday in unequivocal terms "no one has the power to dissolve the country's assemblies."

Talking to reporters here, the Prime Minister said all the issues including judges restoration and President's impeachment will be resolved in the Parliament.

He said unlike previous governments, the purpose of his scheduled visit to the US is not to strike any kind of deal. All the decisions will be made for the greater interest of the country, Gilani added.

He said important issues including the scourge of terrorism would come under discussion during meeting with the US leaders.

Replying a question regarding US and Saudi aid, Gilani said the good news would be shared with the people as soon as the country receives it.

The Prime Minister clarified that the federal government had not made any agreements and that the NWFP government made all the accords.

"Talks are being held only with the peace-loving people and that the proceeds of narcotics from NWFP are being used in the purchase of weapons," he said adding the government will react with full force if the government of NWFP is challenged.

Gilani said his government is taking steps for improving the living condition of the poor, The News reported.

The government had to shift the burden of soaring oil prices due to the flawed policies of the previous government, he said.
