Pak ruling coalition ally urges Nawaz to stop raising non-issues like judges restoration

A leader of a prominent Islamist party in Pakistan has urged former premier Nawaz Sharif to stop raising non-issues like restoration of judiciary, because, according to him, unbearable inflation was more burning issue than the judges issue.

Mirpurkhas (Pakistan), July 15 : A leader of a prominent Islamist party in Pakistan has urged former premier Nawaz Sharif to stop raising non-issues like restoration of judiciary, because, according to him, unbearable inflation was more burning issue than the judges' issue.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl is part of the ruling coalition led by the PPP.

Last evening, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl General Secretary Senator Khalid Mehmood Soomro told reporters that that Nawaz should instead pressurise the government to control price hike, reduce fuel prices, provide jobs, end load-shedding and solve host of other problems, reported the Dawn.

Nawaz had signed charter of democracy (CoD), which clearly stated that that the judges who had taken oath under PCO would not be reinstated, he said and added that the nation wanted accountability of President Pervez Musharraf and did not want to give him a safe passage.

He said that his party had opposed Benazir income support programme, fearing the income meant for the deserving people might end up in wrong hands like Zakat and Baitul Mall funds.
