Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today met visiting American Senator Jospeh Lieberman and expressed concern over US presidential hopefuls remarks over the countrys nuclear assets.
Rawalpindi, Jan 9 : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today met visiting American Senator Jospeh Lieberman and expressed concern over US presidential hopefuls' remarks over the country's nuclear assets.
Lieberman called on Musharraf at the presidential camp office here.
Assuring that their nuclear assets were safe and under an effective command and control system, Musharraf shared with Lieberman the Pakistan Government's growing concern over media reports quoting US presidential hopefuls' about Pakistan's nuclear assets.
According to The News, the US Senator and Musharraf have consultation on the issues of "the war on terror", Pakistan-US relations, the elections and regional situation.
Musharraf also said that he was committed to holding free and fair elections for achieving a stable democracy in the country.
