Meet the man whos slept in the same room for a century!

Ever thought of living in the same room all your life? Well, a retired farmer has been doing just this for the last 100 years.

London, Jan 7 : Ever thought of living in the same room all your life? Well, a retired farmer has been doing just this for the last 100 years.

Douglas Mathews, who recently completed a century, slept in the same bedroom ever since he was delivered there by a doctor on January 5, 1908.

He used it as a child and later shared it with her wife Mabel after he got married in 1934 - the year he took over the 250-acre farm.

Matthews' wife died in 1996 and even after several changes of bed, furniture and decor, he continues to stay in the room.

Matthews is the father of two, Staverton and Devon, and claims that his bedroom is the best one in the house and thus he never felt the need to move out of it.

"I stayed in the same room because it's the best one. There have been changes over the years but I've never needed to move. And at my age I've no intention of changing bedrooms now."

According to his daughter Susan, 65, Matthews will be staying in the same room until he lives.

"He always says the only way he'll leave is in a box," she said.
