Hi-tech weapon killed Benazir: Report

The Pakistan Peoples Party unveiled the external postmortem report of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto prepared on December 28, 2007 to the media, according to which the cause of death was a hi-tech weapon.

Islamabad, Jan 5 : The Pakistan People's Party unveiled the external postmortem report of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto prepared on December 28, 2007 to the media, according to which the cause of death was a hi-tech weapon.

The postmortem report said, "two to three tiny radio-densities underneath fracture segments were observed on both projections."

"The cause of death was open head injuries with depressed skull fracture, leading to cardiopulmonary arrest. The X-Ray report says that the depth of injury in the head is 5x3 centimetre. The shape of injuries is irregular alike to egg," said Dr Babar Awan, Finance Secretary of the PPP.

"According to the X-ray report, as many as 35 millimetre on X-ray measurement depressed fracture from fragment. The segment of injury is invisible electromagnet radiations," Awan said.

He said Dr Mussidiq Khan, Dr Habib Ahmed Khan, Dr Azam Yousif, Dr Aurangzeb Khan, Dr Saida Yaseen, Dr Qudsia Anjam Qurashi and Dr Nasir Khan prepared first report of external postmortem, which the government was trying to hide.

"Electromagnetic radiation (waves) is invisible such as the waves used in technology of radio, TV or microwaves (radiation). All these devices make use of electromagnetic waves," Awan added.

"The Pakistan Government was trying to hide this report. This report gives clear-cut cause of death," he said.

Awan said that investigation must be conducted under the commission of United Nations (UN), and added that the PPP would provide all evidences to the commission of United Nations.

Rejecting probe by Scotland Yard team, Babar Awan said that this team had failed to investigate the murder of former Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan.

"Musharraf should immediately appoint this team for investigation into the killing of Chief of Awami Jamhori Wattan Party Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

He said that there was no need for President Pervez Musharraf to deny army's involvement in Bhutto's killing because his party had never raised finger on it.

He accused the government of conspiring to create deliberate chaos and anarchy in order to discourage the visit of foreign observers in the country during elections.

Meanwhile, a team of legal experts set up by the PPP has almost finalised a letter it is planning to send to the UN Secretary-General requesting him to form an inquiry commission to investigate the assassination Bhutto and people behind the tragedy, The Nation reported.

The draft letter is likely to be presented to PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for approval on Saturday.
