The Pakistan Government has decided to appoint Owais Ghani, incumbent Balochistan Governor, as North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) Governor in place of Lieutenant General (retired) Ali Jan Muhammad Orakzai ahead of the rescheduled general elections on February 18.
Islamabad/Peshawar, Jan 5 : The Pakistan Government has decided to appoint Owais Ghani, incumbent Balochistan Governor, as North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) Governor in place of Lieutenant General (retired) Ali Jan Muhammad Orakzai ahead of the rescheduled general elections on February 18.
"Balochistan's Chief Justice, Amaullah Khan Yousafzai will be appointed as an acting governor in place of Ghani," sources said.
"The decision to change the governors of the two provinces has been taken in principle, sources said, adding that it could take a few days before it is implemented".
Meanwhile, the Daily Times quoted sources as saying that NWFP Governor Ali Jan Orakzai may have resigned.
