The Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has said that there were no United States army troops present in the country.
Islamabad, Jan 31 : The Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has said that there were no United States army troops present in the country.
A military strike in Pakistan by the US, or any other foreign nation, would be considered as an act of war, FO spokesman Muhammad Sadiq told a press conference.
Commenting on President Pervez Musharraf's meeting with Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak, Sadiq said it had been a chance encounter, adding that the two leaders had not discussed issues pertaining to Iran.
"Iran is our brotherly country and Pakistan stands by its principled position on Iranian nuclear issue," the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
Sadiq said that the body of a US embassy official, who died in Islamabad on Monday, was sent to the US on Wednesday.
