Kabul suicide car bomb kills one, injures several others

At least a civilian was killed and several others, including an army officer were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself near an army bus in Kabul early this morning.

Kabul, Jan 31 : At least a civilian was killed and several others, including an army officer were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself near an army bus in Kabul early this morning.

According to The News, the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the early morning attack in a residential area of the city.

Afghanistan Interior Ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary said that the suicide car bomb targeted a bus taking Afghan National Army staff to work, but missed its target.

"The ANA vehicle drove away. In a taxi passing by, one civilian was killed," said Bashary, adding that he was not in a position to immediately give details about the victim.

Bashary further said that at least two people were wounded, including another person in a taxi and a man who had been riding a bicycle directly behind the car bomb.
