London, Jan 23 : A sports car built for Italian dictator Benito Mussolini is expected to fetch nearly 1million pounds when it goes under the hammer.
The 100mph dark red two-seater was made in 1935 to exacting details from Mussolini, reports Times Online.
Mussolini had the engine of Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spyder retuned from 68bhp to 95bhp for greater speed.
Mussolini's chauffeur, the former Alfa Romeo test driver Ercole Boratto, raced the car in the 1936 Mille Miglia, the road endurance race in Italy.
