The people of Pakistan on Monday enthusiastically welcomed the resumption of Geo News and Geo Super transmissions on cable television network in the country.

Karachi, Jan 21 : The people of Pakistan on Monday enthusiastically welcomed the resumption of Geo News and Geo Super transmissions on cable television network in the country.

Lahore newsmen have termed lifting of ban on Geo News a major success of the journalist community and the entire civil society adding that Geo News would represent the aspirations of the people of Pakistan, a report in The News said.

While welcoming the Geo News restoration, the residents of Karachi said that now, they would be well get updated information on the news and current affairs.

On Saturday, President Pervez Musharraf had ordered Geo News and its sports channel Geo Super's resumption on the cable network.

The financial impact of 79 days ban for Geo network was unprecedented, but it persisted on its principled stand.
