Pakistans Supreme Court Bar Association president Aitzaz Ahsan, who is presently under detention was denied to attend a special mourning prayer in remembrance of late Benazir Bhutto by the Government, as alleged by his wife Bushra Aitzaz.

Lahore, Jan 2 : Pakistan's Supreme Court Bar Association president Aitzaz Ahsan, who is presently under detention was denied to attend a special mourning prayer in remembrance of late Benazir Bhutto by the Government, as alleged by his wife Bushra Aitzaz.

The remembrance prayer Quran khawani (recitation of the Quran) was organised by his wife near his residence.

Bushra said, the number of police personnel around her house had been greatly increased.

This comes amidst Pakistan government's decision to his detention for more 30 days.

"All phone lines of her house had been disconnected and the residents' mobile phones had been blocked since December 28, 2007 when Aitzaz had called PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari to condole her assassination," she added.

About 3,000 people, including PPP activists, lawyers, students and members of the civil society attended the Quran khawani
