Peshawar, Feb 2 : At least two policemen and a militant were killed on Saturday when police fought with the rebels hiding in a house near the town of Mardan, some 40 kilometres northeast of Peshawar
According to police, the shootout erupted after police raided a house where militants were hiding.
"The militants refused to surrender and opened fire on police, forcing us to retaliate," Abdullah Khan, a senior police officer in Mardan said.
"Two policemen were killed and two were wounded. One militant was killed," the Dawn quoted him, as saying.
