At least one person was killed and eleven others injured on Wednesday in a bomb blast that rocked an election meeting of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), a pro-Taliban Islamic party, in Peshawar.

Peshawar, Feb 13 : At least one person was killed and eleven others injured on Wednesday in a bomb blast that rocked an election meeting of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), a pro-Taliban Islamic party, in Peshawar.

The explosion took place at Charbagh, a town in the Swat Valley, during a meeting of the JUI, police official said.

"One person died and 11 were wounded in the explosion which also injured a former provincial assembly member belonging to the party," police official Bahadur told a foreign news agency.

Injured have been admitted in nearby hospitals.

On Saturday, suspected militants bombed the election rally of Awami National Party in Charsadda town in which over 30 people were killed and several others were injured.
