Authorities in Pakistan on Tuesday beefed up search operation for Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan Tariq Azeezuddin, who was feared abducted in Afghanistans Khyber tribal district.
Islamabad, Feb 12 : Authorities in Pakistan on Tuesday beefed up search operation for 'Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan Tariq Azeezuddin, who was feared abducted in Afghanistan's Khyber tribal district.
The main road linking Pakistan and Afghanistan has been closed for search operations.
However, the Afghanistan Foreign Ministry is maintaining that Azeezuddin was not in Afghanistan.
According to officials, security forces had seen Azeezuddin's car driven at speed through a check post with "local people sitting in the front seat".
Azeezuddin along with his driver and a security guard was going to Kabul from his hometown of Peshawar in North West Frontier Province.
