IPI gas pipeline project talks in Tehran cancelled

Iran has cancelled talks on the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project that were scheduled to be held here from Monday.

Tehran, Feb.10 : Iran has cancelled talks on the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project that were scheduled to be held here from Monday.

Petroleum ministers of Iran, Pakistan and India were to meet in Tehran on Monday and a signing ceremony on the agreement was also expected, reports said.

According to the Daily Times, Pakistan's Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Ehsanullah Khan was informed by diplomatic sources that the talks had been cancelled.

India had already announced that it would not participate in the talks till a new government was elected in Pakistan.
