At least forty Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants and six Sri Lankan soldiers were killed in clashes between army and the rebel group on Saturday.
Colombo, Feb 10 : At least forty Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants and six Sri Lankan soldiers were killed in clashes between army and the rebel group on Saturday.
The security forces launched attacks on the LTTE in Vavuniya region on Saturday in which 19 rebels and three soldiers were killed.
In Mannar district, 11 LTTE militants and two soldiers were killed.
In other places, 10 rebels and one soldier were killed.
The LTTE did not give any immediate comment over the incidents.
