People in the US will soon be able to get their dose of erotica on the small screens of mobile phones.

London, Feb 1 : People in the US will soon be able to get their dose of erotica on the small screens of mobile phones.

If the adult entertainment industry has its way, it may change the existing scenario in North America, where unlike Europe, cell phone services have not yet started providing adult content on mobiles, due to a fear of offending political and religious groups and parents concerned about children being exposed to adult content.

The scenario may finally change this year, with phone companies planning to loosen control on their networks to allow a wider variety of gadgets and services, while introducing new tools to shield minors.

Now, high quality picture and video is available on more advanced phones with better Web browsers like Apple Inc's iPhone.

"It will be impossible to stop the adult business exploitation of mobile entertainment," The Daily Telegraph quoted, Gregory Piccionelli, a lawyer specializing in adult entertainment at law firm Piccionelli and Sarno.

According to his prediction, U.S. consumers may soon be offered free porn on mobile phones in addition to existing paid services like live video or "adult dates," a term for prearranged sex with strangers.

This week, a conference being held in Miami is devoted to discussing mobile opportunities as the porn industry seeks to find a new driver of growth.

A large number of free online porn sites have cut into profits that have so far come mainly from DVDs, videotapes and pay-per-view or subscription-based Web sites.

According to Jay Grdina, president of adult entertainment provider ClubJenna Inc, which he co-founded with his wife, world-famous porn star Jenna Jameson, in order to sustain, adult entertainers need to be on top of phone trends.
