Islamabad, Apr 8 : Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association president and deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Choudhary's counsel Aitzaz Ahsan has said that the lawyers' community would not accept the judges restoration without the deposed chief justice. e remarked: "A judge going to his office without Iftikhar Chaudhry would be considered a PCO judge."
He said it was lawyers' community that had forced President Pervez Musharraf to doff his uniform and hold the general elections. "The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) has won only 40 seats despite massive rigging in the elections," The News quoted him as saying.
He claimed that Iftikhar Chaudhry's bold stand had changed the judicial history, which had been in a submissive position from 1954 to March 9, 2007.
He said the lawyers would announce their future course of action after the expiry of 30 days.
Parliament and the political parties could enjoy a safe future if they restored Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and the other judges, he said and added: "The nation will not approve any other formula except the restoration of all the sacked judges."
