Only two voters are expected to exercise their franchise at a polling booth during the April 10 Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal.

Kathmandu, Apr 8 : Only two voters are expected to exercise their franchise at a polling booth during the April 10 Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal.

According to the Election Commission of Nepal, around 1,150 voters are required to set up a new polling booth, but a Nepalese daily has highlighted the fact that a booth has been set up for two voters.

There are only two voters in a temporary polling booth set up by the district election office at the Nawalparasi district prison, nepalnews.com reported.

Three election officials and two security personnel would be deployed at the booth.

During the Thursday elections, there will be 20,888 polling centers across the country in which around 17.6 million voters could cast their vote.

The Election Commission has deployed 234,000 polling staffs for the purpose. Most of the staffs have already reached their areas.
