London, April 8 : Harrods owner Mohamed al Fayed has refused to accept the London jury verdict - that Princess Diana and his son Dodi al Fayed were unlawfully killed due to the negligence of the drunk chauffer and chasing paparazzi.
For 10 years, Al Fayed has blamed the Establishment for covering up the truth about the accident, repeatedly insisting that the couple was murdered by Prince Philip and MI6.
But, the inquest jury finally humiliated the tycoon, by ruling that Diana and Dodi died because of gross negligence by both driver Henri Paul and the pursuing photographers.
However, Al Fayed, disappointed by the verdict, refused to accept that the Paris tragedy was not a murder plot.
Outside the High Court, his spokeswoman read out a statement that claimed: "I'm not the only person who says they were murdered."
"Diana predicted she would be murdered and how it would happen. So I am disappointed. The verdicts will come as a blow to the many millions of people around the world who supported my struggle. I thank them," the statement added.
He said the Queen and Prince Philip should have been quizzed as "no one should be above the law".
"The MI6 witnesses told us very little. I still believe they really know what really happened," the statement read.
"Instead, I've had to listen to the coroner's accusations against me. I feel as though my character and belief - that I'm entitled to have as a father - have been on trial.
"I'll always mourn their loss, to me and the world," the statement added.
Diana and Dodi were killed alongside Paul when the Mercedes he was driving crashed in the Alma Tunnel in Paris on August 31, 1997.
