Newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood on Saturday called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, and discussed with him the post-election political scenario and other issues of bilateral concern.

Kathmandu, Apr 26 : Newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood on Saturday called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, and discussed with him the post-election political scenario and other issues of bilateral concern.

This is Sood's first meeting with any senior political leader since his arrival in Nepal, on Thursday, to take up his duty.

Sood, who replaced ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, is yet to present his credentials to the Prime Minister who also acts as the head of the state.

According to sources, the Indian envoy is set to hold a series of meetings with senior political leaders in the next few days, nepalnews.com reported.
