FATA unit of PML-N condemns EU for supporting Prez Musharrafs tenure

The FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) unit of the PML-N has condemned the European Union (EU) foreign committee for pressuring Pakistan government to let Pervez Musharraf continue as President for the next five years.

Peshawar, Apr 26 : The FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) unit of the PML-N has condemned the European Union (EU) foreign committee for 'pressuring' Pakistan government to let Pervez Musharraf continue as President for the next five years.

In a press statement, PML-N FAFA Information Secretary Said Wali Shah Afridi reportedly said that the EU foreign affairs committee had no right to reject the verdict of 160 million people who rejected Gen (Retd) Musharraf on February 18, and extend support to an individual.

Afridi said that Musharraf had no constitutional and legal right to stay in power, and thus he must immediately step down.

The nation voted against President Musharraf and gave a huge mandate to the PML-N and the PPP to reinstate the sacked judges, the Daily Times quoted Afridi as saying.

The government would reinstate the judges and Musharraf would have to go, the PML-N leader further said and added that the EU should respect the judges and Pakistan as a nation who wanted their restoration.
