The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has reportedly rejected the ruling coalition parties decision to form a committee to establish methods for the restoration of the sacked judges
Islamabad, Apr 23 : The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has reportedly rejected the ruling coalition parties' decision to form a committee to establish methods for the restoration of the sacked judges
The Council also announced April 30 as the deadline to restore the sacked judiciary, after which it would decide its future course of action.
"We reject the scrutiny committee being formed by PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to work out modalities for the restoration of sacked judges according to the Murree Declaration," the Daily Times quoted PBC Vice Chairman Syed Rehman as saying at a press conference.
He further said the PBC would announce its strategy on May 3 if the ruling coalition failed to restore the sacked judges before April 30.
PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N leader failed to arrive at an agreement yesterday over restoration of deposed judges, and decided to form a six-member committee for the purpose.
