Mexico City, Apr 18 : President Pratibha Patil, on her visit to Mexico, has said that Indian investments into Mexico have been growing steadily and that now India looks forward with enthusiasm on the part of Mexican investors to enter the Indian market.

"There are tremendous opportunities in the areas of infrastructure and tourism in India which can be exploited by Mexican entrepreneurs. We welcome investments being made by Mexican companies in India," she said during ceremonial reception at Los Pianos, the Presidential House, hosted by Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Thursday.

The President expressed hope that the India-Mexico High Level Group on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation will meet in June this year to draw up a roadmap for the rapid development of trade and economic relationship between the two countries.

In her banquet speech, the President further said that the democratic yearning of both the countries, faith in non-violence and dialogue, the pluralistic and secular credentials of policies make the two countries natural allies in facing the global challenges of today.

Speaking on a privileged partnership agreed between the two countries, she said it is based not just on our commonalties in the past, "but on the vision that we share for the future for our bilateral relations and also for the world."

On the occasion, India and Mexico signed agreements in energy and aviation sectors. India's Minister of State for Non-Conventional Energy Sources Vilas Muttemwar signed the agreement with Mexican secretary of Energy Georgina Kessel.

During her three-day stay here, Patil is scheduled to visit the Supreme Court of Mexico and meet President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Guillermo Iberio Ortiz Mayagoitia. She will also pay homage at the National Heroes Memorial and would visit Teotihuacan to see the pyramids and the Guadeloupe Church.

Patil will also offer floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi here. She will leave Mexico on April 20 for Chile.
