The first joint life science event staged by BIOTECHNICA AMERICA, INTERPHEX and PharmaMedDevice closed with positive results. The new "tripartite" event completed its maiden run in Philadelphia with outstanding exhibitor and visitor figures. Total attendance of 13,000 trade visitors easily exceeded original prognoses. The organizers at Deutsche Messe and Reed Life Sciences were extremely satisfied with the run of the three-day event. "The debut installment was a success," stated Stephan Ph. Kuhne, Managing Board member at Hannover-based Deutsche Messe, adding that "the new concept of uniting companies and specialists from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry under the same umbrella was enthusiastically received by exhibitors and visitors." The three events ran in parallel from 26 to 28 March at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
1,003 exhibitors from 20 different nations presented their products and services on 235,000 square feet of display space (around 21, 831 square meters), including participation by international market leaders like Boehringer Ingelheim, Pfizer, Hoffmann La Roche, Sartorius, Eppendorf and GE Healthcare.
Key topics at this year's event included biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, production plant and equipment and pharmaceutical and biotech apparatus.
Featuring more than 100 presentations, the supporting conference program served as a central platform for knowledge transfer between the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. And the two-day "Life Science Job Fair," featuring attractive employment opportunities in the international life sciences industry as well as numerous information events on HR-specific themes, also proved an audience magnet.
Next year the combined life sciences platform of BIOTECHNICA AMERICA, INTERPHEX and PharmaMedDevice will take place from Tuesday, 17 March to Thursday, 19 March.
